Halve the apple, remove the core, and cut the flesh into slices about 3 mm thin. Place the apple slices in a bowl, pour white wine over them, mix well, and let steep briefly.

Cut the Brie into even slices. Generously spread soft butter on one side of the toast slices.

Heat a pan over medium heat. Place one slice of toast, butter-side down, in the pan. Top with some of the cheese slices, the marinated apple slices, a little cress, and a dollop of cranberry jam. Cover with a second slice of toast (butter-side up).

Chef's tip

For an alcohol-free version, you can simply marinate the apples in a little apple juice instead of wine.
