Gurkerl Küche
Ein klassisches Rezept für weiche, duftende Honiglebkuchen, die in Österreich besonders zur Weihnachtszeit beliebt sind. Der Teig lässt sich wunderbar mit Kindern verarbeiten und die fertigen Lebkuchen glänzen herrlich durch den Eistrich.
Preparation method
Knead all ingredients for the dough (flour, 175 g powdered sugar, honey, butter, cocoa, rum, 2 eggs, baking powder, and gingerbread spice) into a smooth dough. Form the dough into a roll, lightly dust with flour, and wrap tightly in cling film. Let it rest overnight in the refrigerator.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
Let the well-chilled dough come to room temperature. Then, on a lightly floured surface, roll it out to about 3–4 mm thick. Cut out desired shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes.
