Preparation of the Churros
In a shallow bowl, mix the granulated sugar with the ground cinnamon and set aside for later.
In a larger bowl, combine the plain flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt. Add one tablespoon of vegetable oil and 250 ml of hot water. Mix everything well until a smooth, thick, and sticky dough forms. The dough should not be too runny.
In a small pot or deep pan, heat about 5 cm of vegetable oil over medium heat (approx. 170 °C). Fill the dough into a piping bag with a star nozzle (approx. 8 mm diameter). Set aside while the oil heats up.
Chef's tip
For the best result, use a star nozzle, as the ridges increase the surface area, making the churros extra crispy.
