Wash the apples, core them, and cut them into slices about half a centimeter thick. From each slice, remove the center with a small cookie cutter or knife to create rings.

Cut the puff pastry into 10 equal strips. Carefully wrap each dough strip around an apple ring until it is evenly covered. One dough strip is used per apple ring.

Place the wrapped apple rings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Whisk the egg with the cinnamon and generously brush the rings with it.

Chef's tip

Serve the apple rings best while still warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
