Diese knusprigen Schinken-Käse-Schnecken sind der perfekte Snack für zwischendurch oder als schnelles Fingerfood für Gäste. In weniger als einer Stunde zaubern Sie aus frischem Blätterteig, saftigem Beinschinken und würzigem Gouda eine herzhafte Köstlichkeit, die warm am besten schmeckt. Die Kombination aus mediterranen Kräutern und einer fruchtigen Tomatenbasis sorgt für das gewisse Extra.

Preparation method

Preheat the oven to 190 °C top/bottom heat and line a baking sheet with baking paper. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle (approx. 20 cm × 30 cm). If you are using pre-rolled dough, simply unroll it.

Peel and finely press the garlic. Peel and finely dice the onion. In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the garlic, onion, Herbs de Provence, finely chopped basil, ketchup, and diced tomatoes. Spread the sauce evenly over the puff pastry with the back of a spoon.

Now, evenly layer the dough first with the Gouda slices (or grated Gouda) and then with the ham. Tightly roll up the dough from the long side. Cut the roll into about 15 equally thick slices with a sharp knife.

Chef's tip

For a vegetarian option, you can simply omit the ham and use more cheese or finely diced vegetables like bell peppers instead.
