- 100 g whole wheat flour
- 200 ml kefir
- 20 ml extra virgin olive oil
- 2 pcs eggs
- 1 vanilla bean (seeds)
- ½ tsp baking powder
- Baking release spray for greasing
- Blueberries, as desired
- Raspberries, as desired
- Red currants, as desired
- Natural yogurt, as desired
- Low-fat quark, as desired
- Maple syrup for drizzling
Method
- 1Combine all ingredients for the batter in a bowl and whisk until smooth.
- 2Turn on the waffle iron and let it preheat thoroughly. Once ready, lightly grease the baking surfaces with baking release spray. Pour in the batter, close the waffle iron, and bake the waffles for about 3 to 3.5 minutes until golden brown. Do not open the waffle iron during baking to prevent the waffles from collapsing or tearing.
- 3Serve the finished waffles with fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, red currants), a dollop of low-fat quark or natural yogurt, and drizzled with maple syrup.
