Flaumige Dukatenbuchteln mit einer cremigen Sauce aus echter Vanille – ein zeitloser Klassiker der österreichischen Mehlspeisküche.
Preparation method
For the starter, crumble the yeast into a small bowl, add 1 tsp sugar and 2 tbsp lukewarm milk. Let it rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes until bubbles form.
In a small saucepan, gently warm the remaining milk and melt the butter in it.
Place the flour in a mixing bowl, add a pinch of salt, the remaining sugar, the egg, the milk-butter mixture, and the starter. Knead into a smooth dough, dust with a little flour, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until its volume has doubled.
