Ingredients

  • 2 slices of toast bread
  • 30 g unsalted butter
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of Gruyère cheese
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 free-range egg M
  • 1 pinch fine iodized salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper

Preparation

    Preheat the oven to 200 °C.

    Melt the butter in a pan and toast the bread slices until golden brown on both sides. Place alternating layers of ham and Gruyère on one toasted slice. Cover with the second slice of toast and bake briefly in the oven until the cheese is melted.

    Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Place a metal ring in the pan, crack the egg into it, and fry until the egg white is set but the yolk remains runny.

    Place the fried egg on top of the baked toast, season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.
Tip
For a perfect fried egg, a metal ring (Ø 8–10 cm) and a non-stick pan are recommended.
