Preparation method
Sauce Preparation
Mix all ingredients for the sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, grated yellow onion, herbs, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper each) well in a bowl and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
Prepare and Serve the Burger
Cut the tomatoes into 16 slices. Peel the red onion and cut it into fine rings. Fry the bacon on a medium-hot grill until golden brown and crispy on both sides, then set aside.
Form 4 patties from the minced beef. Season both sides with salt and pepper and brush with a little melted butter. Place on the medium-hot grill and grill for approx. 3 minutes. Flip the patties, brush again with butter, and grill for another 2 minutes. Then place a slice of cheddar on each piece of meat and grill for another 1 minute until the cheese melts slightly. Place the cooked meat on a plate.
Chef's tip
Don't overcook the meat. It should remain slightly pink inside – this way the burger stays maximally juicy.
