Preparation of the Potatoes
Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
Wash the potatoes thoroughly, clean them, and cut them into slices about 4 mm thick. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and arrange the slices next to each other. Bake in the preheated oven for approx. 18 minutes until soft, turning the slices once after half the time.
Place the cooked potatoes in a bowl, salt generously, and serve hot with the prepared garlic butter.
Chef's tip
Baking time may vary slightly depending on the potato variety and season. Make sure the slices are golden brown and soft.
This dish tastes best when eaten directly with your hands: simply take a hot potato slice and spread it with garlic butter as desired.
The germ in garlic contains many essential oils that can cause heartburn. Removing it makes the butter more digestible and the taste finer.
