Ingredients
- 12 slices of toast bread
- 100 g ham slices
- 100 g Gouda cheese block

- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
Preparation
- 1Lay out the slices of toast bread on a work surface. Generously butter six slices.
- 2Distribute the ham and Gouda evenly over the buttered slices. It's best to grate the cheese fresh or cut it into thin slices so that it melts optimally.
- 3Place the remaining six slices of toast on top as lids.
- 4Bake the sandwiches in a sandwich maker until golden brown and crispy, until the cheese slightly oozes out at the sides. Alternatively, fry them in a pan over medium heat until golden yellow on both sides (lightly grease the outsides of the toasts for this).
- 5Halve the finished toasts diagonally and serve immediately while warm. A fresh green salad pairs excellently with this.
