Ingredients
- 200 g cottage cheese
- 145 g plain wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pc egg for brushing
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds for sprinkling
Method
- 1Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2Finely blend or purée the cottage cheese until it has a smooth consistency. In a bowl, mix with the flour and baking powder. Work everything into a smooth, slightly sticky dough and knead it vigorously for at least 4 minutes until it becomes elastic.
- 3Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces (approx. 80 g per piece). Shape each piece into a flat disc, press a hole in the middle, and form it into a bagel. Place the bagels on the baking sheet, brush with the beaten egg, and generously sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- 4Bake in the preheated oven for approx. 25 to 30 minutes until the bagels are golden brown and crispy. Let cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
