Main Ingredients

  • 16 g Sushi Rice (cooked and cooled)
  • 500 g cooked Shrimp (Ebi)

For Serving & Seasoning

  • 1 tube Wasabi Paste
  • 1 bottle Soy Sauce
  • 1 jar pickled Ginger (Gari)

Preparation

  • 1
Take a small amount of the prepared sushi rice in your palm and form it into an even, elongated loaf. Be careful not to press the rice too firmly, so it remains loose.
  • 2
Place a tiny dab of Wasabi paste on the underside of the prepared shrimp. Then place the shrimp, wasabi-side down, onto the rice loaf and gently press it so that it conforms to the shape of the rice.
  • 3
Arrange the finished Ebi Nigiri on a plate. Traditionally, serve the sushi with a small bowl of soy sauce for dipping and some pickled ginger to neutralize the palate between bites. Enjoy your meal!
Tip
Pickled ginger (Gari) is not just a side dish; it serves to neutralize the taste in the mouth before trying another type of sushi.
