Preheat the oven to 190 °C top/bottom heat.

Cut off the top end (approx. 1 cm) of each of the two garlic bulbs, so that the cloves are slightly exposed. Drizzle the garlic with olive oil, wrap tightly in aluminum foil, and roast on a baking sheet in the oven at 195–200 °C for about 45–50 minutes until soft.

Remove the tray from the oven and let the garlic cool for at least 15 minutes to avoid burns. Leave the oven on.
Chef's tip
If you're short on time, you can skip roasting the garlic. In this case, increase the amount of butter by 10–20 g and use 1–2 additional fresh garlic cloves. During wild garlic season, the baguette also tastes excellent with wild garlic pesto (mix approx. 40 g butter with 25 g pesto).
