Preparation method
Wash and clean the spring onions. Finely chop one spring onion and the herbs (marjoram and Thai basil). In a bowl, mix the minced beef with the chopped spring onion, the egg, the marjoram, and about three-quarters of the basil. Season the mixture vigorously with salt and pepper.
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal parts and form them into flat patties with a diameter of approx. 11 cm. Cut the Camembert into 4 pieces. Press an indentation into the center of each meat patty, place a piece of cheese inside, and carefully seal the meat around it. It is important that the cheese is completely enclosed by the meat so that it does not leak out on the grill.
Preheat the grill to 230 - 270 degrees. Grill the burger patties for approx. 4 - 5 minutes per side. On the edge of the grill, where the heat is not as strong, grill the remaining whole spring onions, turning them regularly.
Chef's tip
Make sure to press the meat together firmly when forming so that no air holes are created through which the cheese could escape. A splash of oil on the grill grate prevents the patties from sticking.
