Ingredients overview
- 150 g ground beef
- 1 burger bun
- 1 slice of cheddar
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 leaves of lettuce
- 2 slices of tomato
- 2 rings of red onion
Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and form it into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger bun. Lightly press it flat in the middle so that it doesn't bulge too much when frying.
Place the meat at room temperature on the hot, lightly oiled grill or in a pan. For a medium result, fry for about 3 minutes per side (depending on thickness). Shortly after flipping, place a slice of cheddar on the meat to melt. Briefly toast the sliced burger buns as well.
Spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the buns. Layer the lettuce, the meat with the melted cheese, as well as tomato slices and onion rings on top. Close with the top half of the bun and enjoy immediately.
Chef's tip
It's best not to place the lettuce directly under the hot meat so that it stays nice and crispy. Crispy fried bacon also goes perfectly with it!
