Ingredients
- 2 pcs Red onions
- 2 tbsp Natural yogurt
- 2 pcs Halloumi
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pc Parsley
- 1 pc Herb mix
- 1 tbsp Cane sugar
- 0.5 pc Fresh garlic
- 2 pcs Burger Buns
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 pc Fine table salt
- 1 pc Beefsteak tomato
- 1 pc Dried thyme
- 1 pc Ground black pepper
- 2 pcs Iceberg lettuce
- 2 pcs Pickled gherkins
- 1 pc Chili powder
Method
- 1Peel the onions, halve them, and cut them into thin slices.
- 2Heat olive oil in a pan and fry the onions until golden brown. Then add sugar to lightly caramelize them.
- 3Now add the remaining spices and simmer everything over low heat until half of the liquid has evaporated. Finally, stir in a teaspoon of honey and season with salt.
- 4Mix the ingredients for the dip and season to taste. Then simply store the dip in the refrigerator.
- 5Brush the halloumi cheese with olive oil and rub with dried thyme. Place the cheese on the grill or in a pan and grill or fry until golden yellow.
- 6Cut the onions and briefly fry them with a little olive oil.
- 7Spread the bottom half of the bun with the prepared dip and place lettuce leaves on top. Now arrange the grilled halloumi cheese on the lettuce leaves. On top of the halloumi cheese, place a slice of tomato and a few cucumber slices. Then spread the onion chutney over the vegetable slices and finally spread the top half of the bun with the dip to cover the burger.
- 8You can serve the onion chutney hot or cold. The chutney can even be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. As a side dish, we recommend grilled vegetables, asparagus, or salad.
