Ingredients
- 5 Kaiser Rolls
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 100 g Leg Ham Slices
- 125 g Classic Mozzarella
- 80 g Grated Emmentaler
- 10 g Fresh Flat-leaf Parsley
- 500 g Classic Breadcrumbs
- 250 g Mildly Salted Butter
- 2 Free-range Eggs M
- 150 g Whipping Cream 32% Fat
- 150 ml Whole Milk 3.5% Fat
- 10 g Ground Nutmeg
- 50 g Fresh Garlic
- A little Table Salt
- A little Ground Black Pepper
Method
- 1Preheat the oven to 180 °C and line a small baking sheet with baking paper.
- 2Cut the rolls into cubes and spread them on the baking sheet. Add olive oil, mix, and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until the rolls are toasted.
- 3Meanwhile, grease a deeper baking dish (approx. 20x10 cm) with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Cut the ham into strips and finely chop the parsley.
- 4Place the first half of the toasted rolls on the bottom of the dish, sprinkle with half of the ham and parsley. Tear the mozzarella into pieces and add half of it to the dish along with the grated Emmentaler. Add the second part of the toasted rolls and then sprinkle again with ham, parsley, mozzarella, and Emmentaler.
- 5In a bowl, whisk the eggs together with the whipping cream, milk, nutmeg, pressed garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the bread bake and place it in the oven.
- 6Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, serve warm.
