Description
In contrast to celeriac, celery stalks form only faintly indicated tubers. The plant grows 60-70 cm high. The delicate petioles or leaf sheaths, which grow up to 4 cm wide, are white, yellowish, sometimes also red or purple striped.
The flavour of celery is pleasantly spicy, milder than that of celeriac, but still typically celery-like.
