The classic among the gourmet fillets and always delicious! Of course, we use high-quality Alaska pollock fillet from sustainable fisheries and the best organic ingredients. With our spicy seasoned Schlemmerfilet Bio-Bordelaise, fish enjoyment is quick and easy on the plate.

The Alaska pollock for our gourmet fillet comes from fishing area FAO 67, which is the Northeast Pacific - more precisely the Gulf of Alaska and the Eastern Bering Sea. The population there is stable and strict management ensures that fishing pressure remains below the established reference levels. Fishing pressure represents the amount of fish that is taken from the sea. Sustainable fisheries must not take more than grows back. Besides good management, it is important that the fishery is very selective. There is hardly any by-catch among our fishermen - on average 98% of the catch consists of the target species, the Alaska pollock. Both factors, management and selectivity, are crucial for the sustainability of the fishery. And this has practically become a tradition here. As one of the first in the world, the US Alaska pollock fisheries received the MSC label for sustainable operations back in 2005.

Preparation note

We recommend preparation in the oven. Enjoy only when cooked through.

In the oven: Place the frozen Schlemmerfilet in the open tray on a baking tray in the middle of the preheated oven. Bake at 220°C top and bottom heat for approx. 40 minutes. (fan oven: 200°C approx. 35 minutes / gas oven: level 6)

Microwave: Cook the frozen Schlemmerfilet in the tray in the microwave oven at 600 watts for approx. 10 minutes. Then bake for approx. 10 minutes with the grill switched on.

The big vision that was the impetus to found followfish in the first place in 2007: Stop overfishing and save the oceans! This is just as relevant today as it was then. More than 30% of the fish stocks are overfished, almost 60% are so intensively fished that only minimally stronger fishing would lead to an overfishing situation. Fish consumption is increasing every year. Sustainable fisheries do too, but unfortunately not as quickly as necessary. Fishing without sustainability is a dead end and can never be a solution to food issues of sustainable nutrition. Fishing more than grows back may have an economic advantage for one year, but it destroys the livelihoods of future years.

Since legislators - i.e. governments - are failing globally to manage fisheries so that they function sustainably, the WWF, among others, founded the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) 24 years ago, the "Council to Save the Seas". The MSC rewards sustainable fisheries with certification. Even though it seems that a lot of fish is already MSC-certified in this country, only 15 percent of fisheries worldwide meet the 35 sustainability criteria of the MSC.
