About the breed:
Mangalitza is a breed of pig that has its origin in Hungary. They are woolly pigs, so named because of their dense, woolly bristles. Characteristic is also the thick fat layer of the animals, this can be up to 20cm on the back. This protects the animals from the cold in winter in the free range. The fat of the Mangalitza pigs has a high proportion of omega-3 fatty acids.
