Tuna with coconut, chili and lemon, also known as "Mas Huni", is a popular breakfast in the Maldives and traditionally seasoned with a spicy flavor. Tastes best with fresh flatbread. The followfood tuna comes from one of the most sustainable fisheries: the pole and line fishery in the Maldives. All other ingredients are organically grown. The followfood tuna was caught off the Maldives using one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly methods in the world: with rod and line, also known as "pole and line".
The tuna are caught individually using traditional bamboo poles. Instead of electronic aids, flocks of birds show our fishermen where the tuna are. This is how fishing has been done in the Maldives for around 900 years. This method protects nature, avoids bycatch, protects stocks and is therefore particularly natural and sustainable. In addition, followfood can guarantee absolute transparency and enable the complete traceability of followfood products back to their origin.
