Tomato flakes are a dry product obtained from sun-ripened tomatoes. The tomato red flakes are very concentrated in taste. 1 kg of tomato flakes is equivalent to about 13.9 kg of fresh tomatoes.
Instead of tomato paste, tomato flakes can be used to season and flavour soups and sauces.
Spiceworld tip: Excellent for pasta dishes. Simply cook with hot dishes, for cold dishes soak in warm water shortly before use.
