Thomas' great passion among all products is the onion. Cultivating them is a new s exciting challenge year after year, because no two years are the same. So some years it is more difficult than others to achieve good yields. But it is precisely this challenge that Thomas loves, and so year after year he succeeds in harvesting onions of excellent quality. While the winter onion is cultivated in August and rests in the field over the winter, the summer onion is cultivated in spring and harvested in autumn. The winter onion loves the loamy, sandy soils and after sufficient rest over the winter, it can be enjoyed first from June to July in the colours yellow and red. But the Marchfeld climate is also good for the summer onion, because it does not like intensive rain and so you can enjoy it from mid-September in the colours yellow, red and white.

Where Pannonian climate and fertile black soils meet the dedication and passion of Thomas Mazzucato , nature becomes a highlight. In the middle of Marchfeld, in Raasdorf, lies the Theuringer family farm. Here, fruit, vegetables and cereals have been cultivated for over 250 years with great dedication and understanding for nature and agriculture. Since 1970, in addition to onions and carrots, the family has also cultivated strawberries, and since 2000, asparagus of excellent quality and outstanding taste. Best quality, daily guaranteed freshness and an intact nature are our most important goal. That is why we work strictly according to the guidelines of integrated agricultural production and bear the AMA seal of quality according to the Global Gap standard and the PGI designation of origin Marchfeldspargel.
