Zaric Queen Zwetschkenbrand is a true masterpiece of Serbian plum brandy, or “Rakija” as the locals call it, and the only brandy with a protected geographical origin. Zaric Queen, or “Kraljica” in Serbian, is a brandy made from 100% of the finest old plum varieties Pozegaca, Ranka and Trnovaca, which are most common in the Kosjeric region, known for its exceptional plum growing climate at an altitude of 500-900 m. It is double distilled (prepecenica) and matured for seven years in oak barrels, has a transparent amber colour and rich, intense aromas of plums and vanilla, a full-bodied, harmonious fruity taste and a very long oaky aftertaste. It tastes excellent both slightly warmed and well chilled and is often compared to French cognac or Scottish single malt whisky. Chilled, Kraljica goes excellently with appetisers, white cheese, ham, all kinds of grilled meat and vegetables as well as nuts (almonds, walnuts). Slightly warmed, like a French cognac, it is a great digestif after a meal, served with a cup of black coffee and dark chocolate. Alcohol content 42%.
