Zahel Winery is now run by the 4th generation, with the Wiener Gemischter Satz always being the focus.

About 30 years ago, the winery was the first to write "Wiener Gemischter Satz" on a wine label, thus initiating a renaissance for the business.

Today, the winery is the only Viennese winemaker to cultivate vineyards in all wine-growing zones of Vienna on approx. 30 hectares of vineyards. The wine-growing regions in Mauer, Oberlaa, and Nussberg are of particular importance.

Since the 2017 vintage, Zahel Winery, with all its vineyards, has been 100% organically certified. And since the 2018 vintage, the winery has been part of the Demeter winemakers' circle and is Vienna's only Demeter winery. For Zahel Winery, biodynamics means preserving healthy soils and biodiversity in harmony with nature and people.
