Thomas's great passion among all products is the onion. Cultivating it is a new and exciting challenge year after year, because no year is like the other. In some years it is more difficult than in others to achieve good yields. But Thomas loves this challenge and so he succeeds in harvesting onions of excellent quality year after year. While the winter onion is planted in August and rests in the field over the winter, the summer onion is cultivated in spring and harvested in autumn. The winter onion loves the loamy, sandy soils and after sufficient rest over the winter you can enjoy it as the first from June to July in the colours yellow and red. But the summer onion also gets the Marchfeld climate magnificently, because it does not like intensive rain and so you can enjoy it from mid-September in the colours yellow, red and white.

Where the Pannonian climate and fertile black soils meet the dedication and passion of Thomas Mazzucato, nature becomes a highlight. The Theuringer family business is located in the middle of the Marchfeld, in Raasdorf. Here, fruit, vegetables and cereals have been cultivated with great dedication and understanding of nature and agriculture for over 250 years. Since 1970, the family has been cultivating strawberries in addition to onions and carrots, and since 2000 also asparagus of excellent quality and outstanding taste. Storage recommendation

Onions should never be stored in the refrigerator. A dry, cool and dark room with regular ventilation is best for storage. Baskets or clay pots with holes that provide a gentle draught are also ideal.
