What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What should you be aware of before using Labisan Cold Sore Ointment?
Labisan Cold Sore Ointment must not be used
- if you are allergic to zinc oxide, peanut, soya or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
- In children under 12 years of age, as no relevant experience is available.Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Labisan Cold Sore Ointment.
Labisan Cold Sore Ointment should not be applied to large areas of skin.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes other than those of the lips. If you apply Labisan Cold Sore Ointment to these areas by mistake, wipe and/or rinse thoroughly.
Use Labisan Cold Sore Ointment with other medicinesInform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.
Labisan Cold Sore Ointment has no known interactions with other medicines.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
No harm is expected after proper use.
Do not drive or use machinery
Labisan Cold Sore Ointment has no effect on the ability to drive or use machinery.
Labisan Cold Sore Ointment contains peanut oil and castor oil.
Labisan Cold Sore Ointment contains peanut oil and must therefore not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to peanut or soya (see also section "Labisan Cold Sore Ointment must not be used").
Castor oil may cause skin irritation.
How should the medicine be taken?
How to use Labisan Cold Sore Ointment?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
For use on the skin (lips).
Labisan Cold Sore Ointment should be applied sparingly if necessary.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years
Apply Labisan Cold Sore Ointment thinly to sensitive or affected areas of the lips several times a day.
If you have used a larger amount of Labisan Cold Sore Ointment than youshould
There is no experience regarding an overdose with Labisan Cold Sore Ointment.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
What are the possible side effects?
How to store Labisan Cold Sore Ointment?
No special storage conditions are required for this medicinal product.
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton/tube after "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
Burns for 6 months after opening.
Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

What Labisan Cold Sore Ointment contains
- The active ingredient is: zinc oxide.
100 g ointment contains: 20 g zinc oxide.
- The other ingredients are:
White vaseline, talcum, phenol, thin paraffin, refined peanut oil, virgin castor oil, red and yellow iron oxide (E 172).
