Homemade strawberry jam
Finally spreadable: The season for homemade jams is - once briefly screw the lid - open! The sweet fruits are finally growing again on home soil and are just waiting to be processed by you, filled into the jar and eaten. After all, what could be more delicious than fresh bread with homemade strawberry jam?

For approx. 1 kg of strawberry jam you will need:
1 kg strawberries
1 pkg. citric acid (10g)
500 g jelling sugar 2:1
Wash the strawberries and remove the stem and stalk. Then puree the strawberries - the finer you puree, the smoother the jam will be in the end. Place in a saucepan with the citric acid and preserving sugar and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring constantly.
Test the consistency of the jam by pouring 1 teaspoon of hot jam onto a cold plate. If it thickens after 1-2 minutes, it is ready to be bottled. Otherwise, just let it simmer a little longer and repeat the jelly test.
Fill the jam immediately into sterile jars. Turn the jars upside down so that they can cool properly. Stored in a dark and cool place, you can keep your homemade jam for about 2 years and enjoy it again and again.
Tip: Decorate your jars with a pretty bow - and you can sweeten the day for your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours.
