For all types of injuries, whether cuts, abrasions, minor burns, exuding wounds or post-surgery.
Application
1. Clean the wound according to clinical practice. 2. Carefully dry the surrounding skin. The use of moisturisers, gels or ointments on the surrounding skin can impair adhesion and should be avoided. 3. Remove the protective films and apply the adhesive side to the skin without stretching the dressing. Make sure that the absorbent pad covers the wound. 4. Gently press on the border to ensure proper adhesion to the skin.
To remove, grasp the edge of the dressing and slowly peel it off the skin in the direction of hair growth.
Care must be taken that Mepore is not applied under tension to avoid shear forces that can lead to skin damage. When applying over joints, take care not to impair joint flexibility. Excessive swelling may occur following some surgical procedures. In this case, it may be better to use a more flexible dressing to minimise skin tension.
Mepore should be changed before it is fully saturated, at signs of leakage, or according to clinical practice.
