Application
1. Clean the wound in accordance with clinical practice. 2. Carefully dry the surrounding skin. The use of moisturisers, gels or ointments on the surrounding skin can impair adhesion and should be avoided. 3. Remove the protective films and apply the adhesive side to the skin without stretching the dressing. Ensure that the absorbent pad covers the wound. 4. Gently press the edge to ensure proper adhesion to the skin.
To remove, grasp the edge of the dressing and slowly peel it away from the skin in the direction of hair growth.
Care must be taken to ensure that Mepore is not applied under tension to avoid shearing forces, which can lead to skin damage. When applying over joints, ensure that the flexibility of the joint is not impaired. Excessive swelling may occur after some surgical procedures. In this case, it may be better to use a more flexible dressing to minimise skin tension.
Mepore should be changed before it is fully saturated, at signs of leakage, or in accordance with clinical practice.
