History
Grapes have a very long history. Around 130 million years ago, there was an early form of wild vine. Its distribution area extended as far as Greenland. Transcaucasia and Central Asia are considered to be the areas of origin of the grapevine. In these areas, forms of grapes have developed that can be classified as the ancestors of today's table grapes. Grapes were already being cultivated in ancient Egypt around 5,000 years ago. At that time, they were mainly used for wine production.
