Country of origin
Description
Red wine 13% vol.
Dolomite stands for the type of rock that thrives in the south-facing Riede Sätzen in the south of Vienna. This special dolomitic limestone consists of calcium magnesium content and gives our wines a lot of minerality.
Style: elegant, fruity nose of wild berry fruits, intense light and dark berry notes on the palate, light spiciness, ripe partly velvety tannin, mineral, long-lasting finish.

The Zahel winery is now in the hands of the 4th generation, and the focus has always been on the Viennese Gemischter Satz.

About 30 years ago, the winery wrote "Wiener Gemischter Satz" on a wine label for the first time thus initiating a renaissance for the business. Today, the winery is the only Viennese vintner to cultivate vineyards in all of Vienna's wine-growing zones on about 30 ha of vineyards. The wine-growing regions in Mauer, Oberlaa and on the Nussberg are of particular importance here.
Since the 2017 vintage, the Zahel vineyard and all its vineyards have been 100% certified organic. And since the 2018 vintage, the winery can count itself among the circle of Demeter vintners and is Vienna's only Demeter winery. For the Zahel Winery, biodynamics means preserving healthy soils and biodiversity in harmony with nature and man.
