TATRATEA has its origin in the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia. It is deeply rooted in the tradition of folk medicine, where there was a herb for every ailment. Hot water was poured over the secret herbal mixture and the infusion was then mixed with alcohol, honey, garlic and tallow. The recipes were varied, everyone had their own, but everyone called it tea.

Over time, the country and its people changed. But the tea was always there. In the depths of the Tatra Mountains, one came across this special drink, which locals and tourists alike loved.

In 2003, TATRATEA began a new life. The newly created, strong drink is based on old, traditional recipes. For the original, for example, black tea from India, oak chips and selected herbs and spices are used. Each Tatratea is a unique blend of tea, fruits, spices and has its own unique flavour profile. But despite the many colours and flavours, it is still one thing: A TATRATEA.
