Ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • 210 g butter
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 150 g ground hazelnuts
  • 1 pc egg
  • 1 pc vanilla sugar

Method

    Place flour, cold butter in small pieces, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, and ground nuts in a bowl.

    Quickly knead everything with your hands to form a smooth dough.

    Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    After the resting period, remove the dough from the refrigerator.

    Break off small pieces of dough and shape them into finger-length rolls.

    Slightly bend the rolls to give them the typical crescent shape of Kipferl.

    Place the Vanillekipferl on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) or 160°C (convection) for about 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden brown.

    Let cool and dust with powdered sugar.
