Mahashay Chunni Lal Gulati founded the Masala Company in Sialkot in 1919. Mahashay Dharam Pal Gulati, the son of the founder, moved to Delhi after the partition of India. He opened a shop in a hut and started selling spices like his father. From there, he built the entire group into one of India's leading spice manufacturers. Talking to Economic Times last year, he said, " My motivation to work is to sincerely sell the product quality at affordable prices. Almost 90% of my salary goes to charity in my personal capacity. "
