This olive comes from the Catalan region of Lleida and is also known beyond the country's borders for its special taste. The Arbequina olive is excellent for oil production, but also enjoys great popularity as a tapas because of its natural flavour.
Arbequina olives are excellent with tomatoes, fish dishes, when dipping bread or as a butter substitute in mashed potatoes. It harmonises well with white wine vinegar, muscatel, red wine vinegar, cabernet sauvignon and sherry vinegar.
