Cuvée R 13.5% Vol.
A strong, aromatic and at the same time mineral red wine, which can be enjoyed very well at a young age with some aeration, but also has storage potential until 2050!
A wine with an intensive cherry red, almost black in the core with clear violet reflections.
Already in the nose it shows a strong barrique tone and reminds of coffee, dark chocolate and walnuts. In addition, there is a concise vegetable note, which reflects beans and green peppers, as well as a spicy component of freshly ground, black pepper.
On the palate the wine seems almost sweet and reveals more fruit than the nose initially suggests - juicy sour cherries and pickled currants are added. The tannin and acid structure seems concise, but is mitigated by the fruit and the slight fruit sweetness.
The alcohol appears restrained with all this opulence and in the finish this powerful wine presents itself long and expressive.
Serving and food recommendation:
A red wine that should be decanted if possible, enjoyed at approx. 17-18°C from a large red wine glass.
It goes very well with game dishes, such as venison medallions with goose liver in pepper sauce. It also harmonises with a pepper steak with green beans and potato gratin.

Since the 17th century, we have been telling the family story in this way, vintage by vintage, with old varieties and new ideas. A small family winery on the edge of the Leithagebirge and at the foot of Lake Neusiedl, which cultivates the vineyards organically, gently and carefully. A special feature of the wines is on the one hand the extraordinary soils such as limestone and slate and on the other hand the decades of experience of the winemaker, who constantly tells new stories through continuous further development.
