The MOELNLYCKE Mepore Sterile Dressing, a single-piece pharmacy product, is an essential for your first aid kit. This versatile dressing is suitable for various injuries, including cuts, abrasions, minor burns, and exuding wounds, as well as for post-operative care. Its sterile design ensures optimal hygiene and protection, making it a reliable choice for effective wound management.
Description
For all types of injuries, whether cuts, abrasions, minor burns, exuding wounds, or after operations.
Application
1. Cleanse the wound according to clinical practice. 2. Carefully dry the skin surrounding the wound. The use of moisturizers, gels, or ointments on the skin surrounding the wound can impair adhesion and should be avoided. 3. Remove the protective films and apply the adhesive side to the skin without stretching the dressing. Ensure that the absorbent pad covers the wound. 4. Gently press the edges to ensure proper adhesion to the skin.
To remove the dressing, grasp it at the edge and slowly peel it off the skin in the direction of hair growth.
Care should be taken not to apply Mepore under tension to avoid shear forces that can lead to skin damage. When applying over joints, ensure that the flexibility of the joint is not impaired. After some surgical procedures, excessive swelling may occur. In this case, it may be better to use a more flexible dressing to minimize skin tension.
Mepore should be changed before it is fully saturated, at the first signs of leakage, or according to clinical practice.
