Hausbrandt Trieste 1892 is the oldest roastery in Italy, founded in Trieste in 1892 by Hermann Hausbrandt, commander of the Austrian merchant navy.

Hausbrandt becomes the leading roastery throughout the empire with its sales and marketing strategies.

The company, which is widespread in Italy and the Balkan countries, continues to grow in the following decades. In 1988 it was taken over by Martino Zanetti and merged with the company that Martino Zanetti already owned.

The tradition of Commander Hausbrandt, the blends and the corporate philosophy continue to develop: Martino Zanetti and his organization have brought the company into a leading position in these 20 years. Italian espresso is gaining a foothold in over 70 countries outside Italy and is finally establishing itself as an international roasting company.

In 2012, the company headquarters with offices and warehouses moved to Vienna. Against the background of the company's history, the geo-economic importance of Vienna as the center of Europe comes into play.
