Country of origin
Description
"Corno gialla" has bright yellow, pointed, elongated fruits. The pointed pepper has a sweet, crunchy aroma. The "Corno gialla" variety is a favourite in Italy and translates as "yellow bull's horn".
Origin
The pepper plant is native to the tropics of South and Central America. Spanish conquistadors brought it from there to Europe in the 16th century, where it was initially grown solely as an ornamental plant and only later as a vegetable.
Tips
When shopping, make sure that the fruits are firm, smooth and shiny. Wrinkles and spots indicate that they have been stored for too long, resulting in a loss of vitamins and flavour. Peppers taste particularly good when peeled (to do this, briefly pour boiling water over them).
Preparation
"Corno gialla" is very suitable for eating fresh in salads, grilled with olive oil or as a pizza topping.
About the producer
Our organic farm is located in the heart of the Seewinkel, on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl in the Pannonian Plain. As the western part of the Hungarian Plain, the Seewinkel is a special place in Austria due to its very specific climate. Hot summers and cold winters, combined with low rainfall and the most sunshine hours, give this region a great deal of potential.

Organic produce has been grown at Biohof Pölzer since 2007, with the focus being on the circular economy through the use of our own horse manure. Vegetable cultivation now boasts an enormous variety of old vegetable types and varieties. From tomatoes in all possible colours and shapes to exotics such as physalis, artichokes etc., you will find every imaginable fruit vegetable in summer on our farm, with well over 100 varieties.
What is special about our farm is that almost everything is created on site, from the seed to the finished product, with great love and care. Family members from three generations work together on this. In our actions and creations, we always try to combine tradition, innovation and sustainability for a clean future.
