Canesten Bifonazole Cream is a broad-spectrum antifungal for the treatment of fungal diseases (mycoses) of the skin.
Application
1. WHAT IS CANESTEN BIFONAZOL - CREAM AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
Canesten Bifonazole - Cream is a broad-spectrum antifungal treatment for fungal infections (mycoses) of the skin.
Fungal infections can occur on practically any part of the body; particularly at risk are areas of the body where skin lies on skin, i.e. between the toes, in the groin area or in the armpit. Bifonazole, the active ingredient in Canesten Bifonazole Cream, penetrates the affected skin layers and kills the fungus there.
Canesten Bifonazole Cream is used for the treatment of e.g. fungal diseases of the feet and hands (tinea pedis, tinea manuum) (including the treatment of an exposed nail bed as a result of nail substance dissolving nail fungus therapy).nail fungus therapy),fungal diseases of the other skin and skin folds (tinea corporis, tinea inguinalis),pityriasis versicolor and diseases of the skin (erythrasma).
How is it applied?

Canesten Bifonazole - Cream is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent for the treatment of fungal diseases (mycoses) of the skin.
Fungal diseases can occur in practically any part of the body, but particularly at risk are areas of the body where skin lies on skin, i.e. between the toes, in the groin area or in the armpit. Bifonazole, the active ingredient in Canesten Bifonazole - Cream, penetrates the affected skin layers and kills the fungus there.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What SHOULD YOU NOTE BEFORE USING CANESTEN BIFONAZOL - CREAM?
Canesten Bifonazole - Cream must not be used
- If you are allergic to bifonazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. .

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Canesten bifonazole cream.
Be particularly careful when using Canesten Bifonazole Cream if you have ever had a hypersensitive (allergic) reaction to other antifungals (e.g. econazole, clotrimazole, miconazole) containing imidazoles.
Avoid eye contact with Canesten Bifonazole - Cream. Do not swallow.
An antifungal treatment of the skin of the nail bed with Canesten cream can only be carried out after prior (keratolytic) removal of the fungus-infected nail substance.
Canesten Bifonazole - Cream should only be used in babies and young children under medical supervision. Make sure that no cream gets into the baby's mouth.
If your symptoms worsen or do not improve, you should definitely consult a doctor.
Use of Canesten Bifonazole - Cream with other medicines.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, or if you are going to take or use any other medicines.
If Canesten bifonazole is used in patients receiving warfarin therapy, they should be monitored accordingly.
Pregnancy, lactation and reproductive capacity.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Pregnancy
Since the safety of use in pregnancy has not been established, Canesten Bifonazole - Cream should only be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding after consulting a doctor. Avoid using Canesten cream during the first 3 months of pregnancy.
Breastfeeding time
You should not breastfeed during treatment with Canesten.
Procreative capacity
No studies have been conducted on the effect of bifonazole on fertility, but animal studies showed no harmful effects of the drug.
Driving ability and ability to operate machinery.
Canesten bifonazole cream has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and use machinery.

Canesten Bifonazole - Cream contains cetylstearyl alcohol.
Cetylstearyl alcohol may cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).
How should the medicine be taken?
HOW TO USE CANESTEN BIFONAZOL - CREAM?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Canesten Bifonazole - Cream should be applied thinly to the affected areas of skin once a day, preferably in the evening before going to bed.
A small amount of cream (approx. 1 cm strand length) is usually sufficient for an area about the size of a palm.
How to use
Apply a thin layer of Canesten Bifonazole cream to the affected areas of skin in the evening before going to bed and rub in.
In the case of fungal nail infections, it is advisable to file the surface of the nails slightly before treatment to allow the cream to penetrate particularly well.
What can you do in addition?
Wash the diseased skin areas before each application so that loose skin flakes and any residues from the last treatment are removed. Dry them thoroughly after washing, especially areas that are difficult to access, e.g. between the toes.
Change towels and clothes that have come into contact with the diseased areas every day. This will help you avoid transmitting the fungal infection to other parts of your body or other people.
Duration of use
In order to achieve a lasting cure, you should continue treatment with Canesten Bifonazole - Cream even after the symptoms, such as burning or itching, have subsided. Depending on the type of disease, you should carry out the treatment over the following periods:

Instructions for use of Canesten Bifonazole Cream with CanesEasyTouch-Applicator:
1. Remove the cap from the CanesEasyTouch-
applicator.
2. To open the tube, turn the bottom of the
CanesEasyTouch applicator in the "OPEN" direction (steps 1
and 2).

3. Squeeze the tube until a sufficient amount of cream
is visible
on the soft CanesEasyTouch applicator tip.
4. Apply the cream thinly and evenly to the
infected areas / between the toes (step 4a).

Using the fluted side of the soft CanesEasyTouch-
applicator tip, gently massage in (Step 4b) and
allow to dry.

5. To close the tube, turn the bottom of the
CanesEasyTouch applicator towards "CLOSE" (step 5).

6. After use, clean the soft CanesEasyTouch-
applicator tip with a damp cloth.
Do not use detergents or chemicals for
cleaning.

Please do not remove the soft CanesEasyTouch applicator tip while
doing this (Step 6).
7. Put the cap back on the applicator.
If your condition gets worse or does not improve after 4 days, you must consult a doctor.
Use in children

No basic studies have been carried out in children. After an assessment of the reported clinical data, there is no evidence to suggest that adverse health effects would be expected in children.
Canesten® Bifonazole - Cream should only be used in infants and young children under medical supervision.
Make sure that no cream gets into the mouth of the infant.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Canesten Bifonazole - Cream is too strong or too weak.
If you have used a larger amount of Canesten Bifonazole - Cream than you should
.There is no apparent risk of acute poisoning as this is unlikely after a single application of an overdose (application over a large area under favourable absorption conditions) or accidental ingestion.
If you forget to use Canesten Bifonazole - Cream
Continue treatment as advised by your doctor or pharmacist or as described in this leaflet.
If you stop using Canesten Bifonazole - Cream
If you interrupt or stop treatment with Canesten Bifonazole prematurely, the skin will not be able to repel all the fungal elements and permanent healing of the diseased areas of the skin will not be possible.

Usable for 6 months after opening.
Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

The other ingredients are: Benzyl alcohol, cetyl stearyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, purified water, octyldodecanol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate.
