For Barceló Imperial, very old rums are used that have to mature for ten years in oak barrels. It has a brilliant amber hue with coppery red elements.
Ron Barceló was founded in 1930 by Julian Barceló in Santo Domingo and has become one of the three best rums in the Dominican Republic. One of the "three Bs", as they are called: Barcelo, Brugal and Bermudez.
