Licor 43 is a herbal liqueur that was first produced in 1924 by the Diego Zamora S.A. distillery in Cartagena and is supposedly based on a recipe over 2000 years old.
The recipe is kept strictly secret; the ingredients are herbs and spices, of which vanilla is the most recognizable. In the glass, Licor 43 presents a radiant golden yellow, its aroma is complex and slightly sweet. On the palate, it unfolds pleasantly with a distinct vanilla note. Licor 43, with its 31% alcohol content, can be drunk neat, at room temperature or chilled with a little ice, depending on taste. However, it is particularly suitable as an ingredient for long drinks and cocktails, mixed with passion fruit juice and even milk.
