CULTIVATION
In the northern Weinviertel lies the small village of Gaubitsch. Here, Cornelia & Thomas Schmidl run their 3rd generation nursery, which has existed since 1952.
Early in the morning, when the dew is still on the plants, the dahlias are cut.
Thomas Schmidl's grandfather already cultivated the plants with their magnificent blossoms in his greenhouses. Adam Schmidl ordered the first greenhouse back then by postcard.
The nursery produces not only summer cut flowers, but also herbs and vegetable plants, summer bloomers, hardy perennials, and much more. Meanwhile, a part of the nursery is also organic certified. In our organic sub-operation, microgreens, cut basil, and tomatoes grow.
Sustainability is important to us! Therefore, for over ten years, we have been relying on plant strengthening and beneficial insect use.
