Magnesium is essential for muscle function. It regulates the contraction and relaxation of muscles – a deficiency can manifest as restless legs or nocturnal calf cramps. Therefore, anyone frequently affected by unwanted muscle contractions, tension, or sleep disturbances should also ensure an adequate intake of magnesium. The intake of this important mineral is also beneficial for the nervous system, energy metabolism, and for preventing rapid exhaustion or frequent fatigue.
