135° East Gin is a gin inspired by the Taisho era, a time when Eastern culture merged with Western customs. It owes its name to the 135th eastern longitude, which crosses the city of Akashi – determining Japanese standard time.

Master Distiller Kimio Yonezawa has taken the three traditional botanicals of London Dry Gin and blended them with five Japanese botanicals to create a harmonious and well-rounded spirit. The botanicals that make up 135° East Gin are carefully sourced from local producers. Each ingredient is distilled separately, using the best method for it to protect its unique properties; one of these is vacuum distillation, which is also used for producing luxury perfumes.

A hint of sake perfects this work of art, awakening the senses and evoking the unexpected, while remaining true to the spirit of traditional gin. As rice is at the heart of Japanese history and cuisine, the sake used to produce 135° East Gin is Junmai, which in turn is made from Yamadanishiki rice, considered the "King of Rice". Once distilled, it reveals a unique delicacy. 135° East Gin offers a powerful floral aroma over citrus notes. It has a silky, balanced mouthfeel, combining citrus, bitter, and floral notes, while Sansho pepper gives it a warm, peppery finish, gently enveloping and accompanying the 5 Japanese and 3 traditional botanicals.

Three classic botanicals such as juniper, angelica, and coriander are complemented by 5 atypical Japanese ingredients. Yuzu, Sansho pepper, shiso leaves, and plum give this gin an exceptional overall composition, where the ever-present citrus note is excitingly played around by spicy aromas.
