What is propolis?

The raw material of propolis is collected by bees as a resinous substance from the buds and bark of various trees. Only the most experienced and oldest bees of a colony take on this important task. They proceed very carefully in their search for suitable plant substances. The collected selection is then further refined by the bee with ferment, pollen and wax and thus processed into propolis, a unique natural product. Up to 100 g of propolis can be obtained from a beehive per year through gentle harvesting.
