We offer free menstrual products

Specifically, you can add selected sanitary napkins and tampons to your shopping cart for free in this category. We bear the costs of the campaign alone. 

Carolin Kracmer: "We hope to give new impetus to existing initiatives on this topic with the campaign. There is already a law in Scotland that requires municipal facilities and educational institutions to provide menstrual products. Why is that not possible in this country?"

The Tampagne initiative supports the campaign. Association founder Kristina Lammert: "In the course of a lifetime, several thousand euros are spent on period products, which women are left with. Tampagne has been campaigning for free sanitary napkin and tampon dispensers in all public buildings since 2019, with initial success through a majority decision in the Leipzig city council. But apart from a few pilot projects in individual cities, politicians have so far remained inactive here." 

How urgent the issue is is shown by a study by the organization Plan International, according to which twelve percent of women delay changing sanitary napkins and tampons for financial reasons, and 18 percent of those under 24. According to a survey by the opinion research institute YouGov, 66 percent of those surveyed are in favor of giving women free access to items such as tampons or sanitary napkins, for example in community centers or pharmacies. 

We are keeping our options open as to how long the campaign will run - but at least until the end of the year.
