LUUF® essential oils balm

For external use in case of colds

Application

Adolescents from the age of 12 and adults: Rubbing: Rub the patient's neck, chest and back with approx. 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of balm (at least a hazelnut-sized amount) 2-3 times a day, preferably in the morning and evening. To improve the effect, cover these areas with pre-warmed cloths. Inhalation: Add a hazelnut-sized amount (approx. 1/2 - 1 teaspoon) of balm to a container of hot water. Inhale the vapours for several minutes. Children: The LUUF® balms are tailored to different age groups. Baby LUUF® essential oil balm should be used for infants and toddlers up to the age of 2. Children's LUUF® balm is available for the external treatment of colds in children aged 2 to 12. If the symptoms persist for more than 5 days or worsen during treatment, a doctor should be consulted.

How is it used?

WHAT IS LUUF ESSENTIAL OIL BALM AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Luuf essential oil balm contains the active ingredients of essential oils from eucalyptus and the resin balm of various types of pine, as well as camphor, menthol and thymol.

The active ingredients are partly absorbed through the skin and cause increased blood flow, which causes a warming sensation. On the other hand, the essential oils reach the lungs directly from the treated parts of the body via the respiratory air as slightly volatile components.

Luuf essential oil balm has an antispasmodic, antiseptic (germicidal) and expectorant effect. The mucus that is stuck is liquefied and can be coughed up better. Furthermore, breathing is made easier and the urge to cough is relieved.

Areas of application:

• for external use in colds with symptoms such as cough, runny nose and pharyngitis.
• for supportive treatment of tracheal and bronchial catarrh (bronchitis) as well as of persistently recurring catarrh.

Ingredients

1 g of balm contains: 100 mg camphor, 27.5 mg menthol, 50 mg essential eucalyptus oil, 50 mg rectified essential turpentine oil, 30 mg essential mountain pine oil and 35 mg pine needle oil, 2.5 mg thymol.

What should you consider before taking it?

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CONSIDER BEFORE USING LUUF ESSENTIAL OIL BALM?

Luuf essential oil balm must not be used,

• if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of Luuf essential oil balm.
• in case of previously occurred febrile convulsions or epilepsy
• in infants and toddlers under 2 years of age due to the content of camphor and menthol (risk of laryngeal spasm)
• in patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases that are associated with pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract. Inhalation of Luuf essential oil balm can lead to shortness of breath or trigger an asthma attack.

Special care must be taken when using Luuf essential oil balm,

Luuf essential oil balm must not be used on damaged or inflamed skin, open wounds, burns or skin diseases with a rash.

Use Luuf essential oil balm only externally. Do not apply to the face or mucous membranes, avoid contact with eyes, mouth and nose.

Children:
The Luuf balms are tailored to specific age groups. Baby Luuf essential oil balm is intended for infants from the age of 6 months to 2 years. Children's Luuf balm is available for children from the age of 2 to 12.


When using Luuf essential oil balm with other medicines

Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.
Eucalyptus oil can affect the breakdown of foreign substances in the liver, the effect of other medicines can be weakened and/or shortened. This cannot be ruled out with large-scale use of Luuf essential oil balm.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Since there is insufficient data, use during pregnancy and breast-feeding cannot be recommended.

If you have used more Luuf essential oil balm than you should
An overdose can lead to skin reactions.

Misuse:
If a child accidentally swallows Luuf essential oil balm, it is important to consult a doctor immediately who can carry out the necessary treatment.
Do not try to induce vomiting.

If you forget to use Luuf essential oil balm
Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten the previous application. In this case, continue using it as described in the dosage instructions or as prescribed by your doctor.

What side effects are possible?

Do not store above 25°C.

Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and on the label of the glass jar after "Usable until". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

The medicine must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you no longer need it. This measure helps to protect the environment.

What Luuf essential oil balm contains
The active ingredients in 1 g of balm are: 100 mg camphor, 27.5 mg menthol, 50 mg essential eucalyptus oil, 50 mg rectified essential turpentine oil, 30 mg essential mountain pine oil and 25mg essential pine needle oil, 2.5 mg thymol.

The other ingredients are white petroleum jelly, nutmeg oil, cedar leaf oil and hard paraffin.

What Luuf essential oil balm looks like and contents of the pack
Luuf essential oil balm is a milky-white, soft ointment in a 30 g glass jar with a protective film and a plastic lid with a seal. Remove the protective film before use.
